Lullabies…and cowboys? USA TODAY bestselling author Leanne Banks kicks off the new Fortunes of Texas continuity with a story of a single mom and the sexy rancher who sweeps her off her feet! As she rings in the new year in Horseback Hollow, Texas, single mom Stacey Fortune Jones tries to count her blessings. She has an adorable baby girl, Piper; supportive parents; good friends. Best of them all is Colton Foster, her longtime neighbor from the ranch next door. He always seems to be around when she needs him. Trouble is, she may be starting to need him a bit too much…. She's off-limits, Colton keeps telling himself. The tall, muscular rancher turns to mush every time he sees Stacey. But falling for his little sister's best friend seems wrong on so many levels. She's on the rebound. She's got a baby. She's…complicated. What's a big-hearted cowboy to do?

Grace and Mercy Brought Us Through is loosely based on the life of my great-grandfather Rev. Aaron Davis. Rev. Davis was born into slavery and grew up during the Civil War. He received freedom with the Emancipation Proclamation and became a circuit riding minister with the Methodist Church in Mississippi. His life as a preacher is well documented , but little was known about his personal life. My Mother wrote a short story about her grandfather and she stated that his Mother was named Tena and his Father was named Indian Charlie. From this information I filled in the blanks and found a fascinating story that took me from Senegal West Africa, through the Middle Passage, through plantation life in Mississippi, through the life of Native Americans in Mississippi and the Black Seminoles in Florida and on to the life of a Black circuit riding preacher. With every word I wrote I realized that God's Grace and Mercy really did bring us through and made us strong people.

Just as ripples from a single raindrop in a pond spread into infinity, simple acts of kindness can turn into ripples of altruism and giving that last throughout eternity. A Journey of Ripples is a series of stories as told by Matt, an eyewitness to the power of paying it forward as he chronicles the experiences of his friends in Oregon. The first story begins in 1986 when Paul reaches out to help Jo Ann on the darkest day of his life: the day he buries his wife of more than fifty years. In turn, Jo Ann promises him that she will do the same for someone else. The rest of the stories tell of the extraordinary responses to that promise. This moving collection is about sacrifice and most importantly, about giving and receiving beyond our fear, pride, and circumstances.
