This book was designed to help children understand that while changes in their lives can be challenging, they can also be fun and rewarding. Charming illustrations fill every page and realistic caricatures bring the lovable creatures to life. Text bubbles, which play off the story, are frequently used in illustrations to add humor to the story. In this story, Pig-a-Poo moves from the farm, where he has lived his entire life, to the zoo where he doesn’t know anyone. He talks about his fears (such as meeting new friends, having nobody to eat lunch with or sit with on the bus) and how he feels about leaving his farm friends behind. As the story goes on, Pig-a-Poo gets to experience new things, makes new friends, and stays in contact with his farm friends. Whether moving to a new house or changing schools, this book will help your child realize that his or her thoughts and fears are a normal part of change and he or she isn’t alone in this endeavor.

Author, Phil Sisson offers a stream of non-stop insights and raw personal experiences into how to connect ones own dots. The book shows that it is possible to heal from past emotional wounds. The original title was Connecting the Dots, inspired by Steve Jobs 2005 commencement address at Stanford University. But with Jobs passing, the author realized that a very important dot, so critical to following ones heart, could not be connected by just looking backwards; it can only be connected by looking backwards and forward. The original idea of the book started in 1976, the year he graduated from UCLA. With so many dots to connect, he admits that youth and fear kept him from facing the real self, and that he didnt have a clue of where to begin. RiPpLeS is the result of his struggle to connect his own heart wrenching personal dots. By being engaged with young performing artists, he saw first-hand how others were caught up in their own quandaries and confusions, expending an extraordinary amount of energy trying to unravel them. As a young college student studying acting, and as the years accumulated, so did the confusions. He was desperate to end the charades but didnt know how, and psychologists were of no help at all. By 2006, after years of performing on stage, he discovered that he was able to help young aspiring dancers learn to act by getting in touch with their own early childhood emotions hidden so deep they were unable to give authentic performances on stage. Instead of performing, they were hiding behind words, he says. The goal of his book is about connecting the dots looking backwards and forward. The forward dots are the ones that heal, and healing is about helping others become authentic doers. That is when the concept of RiPpLeS was born! The title sums up his experiences and struggle to become an authentic human being and actor. In a single word RiPpLeS illustrates everything he believes. Starting with a single pebble thrown into the stillness of consciousness, it is the first trauma of our lives; and with the dropping of that pebble the ponds very center begins to emanate from within, causing ripples on the surface that move away in all directions in search of equilibrium, and finally to be still once again. That one image described perfectly the way I have experienced my own life, he says. Our life experiences are the trauma that not only affects the individual but all the people we meet, expanding out in all directions towards a perfect state of renewed equilibrium. That is what this book and connecting the dots is all about.

For fans of Everyone Poops, a hilariously fresh take on POO! A trip to the zoo turns into a hilarious discussion about poo, as two siblings wonder what sort of poo each and every creature or inanimate object would do. One day, Daddy Rat announces to his baby rats that he'll be taking them to the zoo . . . but only if they're good, which means no talking about poo! And yet, before the family can even leave the house, the two rascally siblings can't help but wonder . . . what sort of poo would an astronaut do? Shiny, silver, space-age poo! Rocket-powered, weightless poo, and it spins round and round like a planet does, too! Head chefs, balloon sellers, blue whales . . . everyone and everything must have a unique poo, and the siblings simply have to stop and imagine each and every one (much to the chagrin of Daddy Rat, who is getting increasingly irritated with all the poo talk). Once the rats finally reach the zoo, things escalate, because of course each and every animal in the zoo must do a special kind of poo! Finally, Daddy Rat has simply had enough, and is forced to sit down and explain the facts to his curious kids. And when he thinks he may have gotten through to his youngsters, he encounters a surprising (and smelly) twist which will have little rats everywhere laughing out loud!
