**Kirkus Best Books of the Year (2013)** From one of our finest and most popular science writers, and the best-selling author of Your Inner Fish, comes the answer to a scientific mystery as big as the world itself: How are the events that formed our solar system billions of years ago embedded inside each of us? In Your Inner Fish, Neil Shubin delved into the amazing connections between human bodies—our hands, heads, and jaws—and the structures in fish and worms that lived hundreds of millions of years ago. In The Universe Within, with his trademark clarity and exuberance, Shubin takes an even more expansive approach to the question of why we look the way we do. Starting once again with fossils, he turns his gaze skyward, showing us how the entirety of the universe’s fourteen-billion-year history can be seen in our bodies. As he moves from our very molecular composition (a result of stellar events at the origin of our solar system) through the workings of our eyes, Shubin makes clear how the evolution of the cosmos has profoundly marked our own bodies. Built from the debris of exploding stars that floated through space for billions of years, home to a zoo of tiny aliens, and controlled by a brain with more possible connections than there are atoms in the universe, the human body is the most incredible thing in existence. In the sequel to his bestselling Inflight Science, Brian Clegg explores mitochondria, in-cell powerhouses which are thought to have once been separate creatures; how your eyes are quantum traps, consuming photons of light from the night sky that have travelled for millions of years; your many senses, which include the ability to detect warps in space and time, and why meeting an attractive person can turn you into a gibbering idiot. Read THE UNIVERSE INSIDE YOU and you'll never look at yourself the same way again.

Buddhist representations of the cosmos across nearly two thousand years of history in Tibet, Nepal, and India show that cosmology is a rich language for the expression of diverse religious ideas, with cosmological thinking at the center of Buddhist thought, art, and practice. InCreating the Universe,Eric Huntington presents examples of visual art and architecture, primary texts, ritual ideologies, and material practicesaccompanied by extensive explanatory diagramsto reveal the immense complexity of cosmological thinking in Himalayan Buddhism. Employing comparisons across function, medium, culture, and history, he exposes cosmology as a fundamental mode of engagement with numerous aspects of religion, from preliminary lessons to the highest rituals for enlightenment. This wide-ranging work will interest scholars and students of many fields, including Buddhist studies, religious studies, art history, and area studies.

The basis for the Emmy-winning film.“A wonderful, highly readable account of the history of the universe from the Big Bang through the present moment.”—Thomas Lovejoy, University Professor in Environmental Science and Policy, George Mason University Through the astonishing combined achievements of natural scientists worldwide, we now have a detailed account of how galaxies and stars, planets and living organisms, human beings and human consciousness came to be. And yet . . . we thirst for answers to questions that have haunted humanity from the very beginning. What is our place in the 14-billion-year history of the universe? What roles do we play in Earth’s history? How do we connect with the intricate web of life on Earth? In Journey of the Universe, Brian Thomas Swimme and Mary Evelyn Tucker tell the epic story of the universe from an inspired new perspective, weaving the findings of modern science together with enduring wisdom found in the humanistic traditions of the West, China, India, and indigenous peoples. The authors explore cosmic evolution as a profoundly wondrous process based on creativity, connection, and interdependence, and they envision an unprecedented opportunity for the world’s people to address the daunting ecological and social challenges of our times. Journey of the Universe transforms how we understand our origins and envision our future. Though a little book, it tells a big story one that inspires hope for a way in which Earth and its human civilizations could flourish together. “What’s most striking about Swimme and Tucker’s work is a simple but beautiful assumption: a cosmological orientation opens the human mind to wonder, gratitude, humility, and creativity.”—Orion

Model of the Universe

Model of the Universe

Laws of Physics (LOP) Model of the Universe: Because of my strong belief that the universe developed in a ... flowing gamma wave electromagnetic radiation within the deflagration front which completely surrounds the universe within.

This Model of the Universe concludes the universe to be a spherical region within a much larger region of primordial matter. Primordial Matter is determined to be an endless array of positroniums; matter (+) and antimatter (-) particles, stabilized in and by an equally spaced (.6 cm) hexahedron arrangement. When positron + and electron - particles come in contact they annihilate into photons; when photon concentrations become adequate, they precipitate into corporeal matter of the universe. The initial annihilation started a chain reaction from a single + & - pair which upset the positronium rotation synchronization. Photons from annihilations propagate in all directions and produce more continuing chain reaction annihilations. Outward flowing photon concentrations coalesce and precipitate into subatomic particles. Accretions of particles produce the objects and matter of the universe. The continuing process is called the deflagration wave, because a simple understandable analogy relates to a flame propagating through dry grass: matter is not created nor destroyed; it is only converted from one form of matter into another. All processes in this Model have been proven, and verified; all are consistent with the Laws of Physics.

Understanding the Universe: The Physics of the Cosmos from Quasars to Quarks explores how all areas of physics, from the very smallest scales to the very largest, come together to form our current understanding of the Universe. It takes readers on a fascinating journey, from the Big Bang and how the Universe has evolved, to how it appears now, and the possibilities for how it will continue to evolve in the future. It also explores the latest exciting developments in the area and how they impact our understanding of the Universe, such as quantum chromodynamics, black holes, dark energy, and gravitational waves. Equally importantly, it explains how we have come to know all of this about the Universe and details the limitations of our current understanding. This book is accessible to all introductory undergraduate students interested in the physical sciences. It prioritises a non-mathematical approach so it can be understood by all students, with only two algebraic equations in the book and any numerical calculations shown are limited to simple arithmetic. Key Features: Combines current understanding of quantum physics and cosmology, and includes the latest exciting developments from the field. Provides an accessible introduction to the topic, focusing on a non-mathematical presentation. Presents a comprehensive narrative on the subject and a coherent story.

Albert’s Journey into the Universe explores our garden universe in a playful manner that is fun for children of all ages. The story includes many of the elements that make for imaginative learning. The story takes the reader to places that we are not capable of going with our normal perspective paradigm but they are places also within our realm of possible evolution. Change your paradigm, change your reality. Meet critters that can communicate with man, go to the far reaches if the universe, travel around the world in a day, visit inner Earth, vision what our imagination can achieve, navigate through the micro and the macro universe, take inner journeys that lead you to source then go on a vision journey of your own. Envision a world where mankind is learning how to steward our spaceship Earth as well as our physical space suit that we are provided with from birth till death. Take a comical look at the possible blockages that keep us from achieving our full potential as a galactic species on a path towards source. Take a moment to imagine where mankind is destined to go ‘giving divine blessing from within’ (our consent), from our connection with source. It is up to us. No one can do this for us; no government, no religion, no parent figure, no space aliens not even our ascended masters can make it happen. Yep; it is up to us. We may as well have fun making the desired changes, so have as much fun reading and imagining as you can.
