NICK’S HEART (Book 2 of the In Your Arms series) is a story of inspiration: Nick Costas, having coped with and overcome his rough upbringing in abusive foster homes and on the streets of L.A., having undergone a spiritual transformation, and having become a loving and passionate father of a family of seven, continues to inspire those around him but with newfound struggles. Nick now struggles to accept and perfect his newfound fame as an author and a touring speaker while also trying to build a safe haven home for boys. And he struggles to balance these new gigs with his health and with the wants and needs of his ever-changing family. Join Nick on his journey of inspiration as he transitions from a successful music producer and a loving and spiritual father of a family of seven to an inspiration to those around him. Follow him as he inspires others through his speaking engagements and his love and passion for his wife Barb, his five children, and scripture. Follow him as he directly and indirectly guides his friends and his children through their own courtships, love lives, and marriages. And follow him as he works to build a Home for Boys as a place where struggling youths like he was can have the same opportunities for redemption and success that he experienced. If you enjoyed the stories of personal redemption, spiritual transformation, and loving couples, parents, and families contained in Book 1 of the In Your Arms series (Nick’s Choice), then you will enjoy continuing to follow Nick as he uses those stories to inspire others in Book 2 of the series (Nick’s Heart). The story of Nick Costas, as told in this book, is here to continue inspiring and guiding you in your own personal, parental, and family life.

The Renewal of the Heart Is the Mission of the Church

The Renewal of the Heart Is the Mission of the Church

What is clear to me, though, is that what passes for the caricature of Pietism that I described above does not at all do ... See, for instance, the volumes in the series “Pietist and Wesleyan Studies” edited by Steve O'Malley and David ...

John Wesley has arguably influenced more American Christians than any other Protestant interpreter. One reason for this wide influence is that Wesley often spoke about the "heart" and its "affections"--that realm of life where all humans experience their deepest satisfactions, as well as some of their deepest conundrums. However, one of the problems of interpreting and appropriating Wesley is that we have been blinded to Wesley's actual views about "heart religion" by contemporary stereotypes about "affections" or "emotions." Because of this, it is rare that either Wesley's friends or his critics appreciate his sophisticated understanding of affective reality. To make clear what Wesley meant when he emphasized the renewal of the heart, Gregory S. Clapper summarizes some recent paradigm-changing accounts of the nature of "emotion" produced by contemporary philosophers and theologians, and then applies them to Wesley's conception of the heart and its affections. These accounts of emotion throw new light on Wesley's vision of Christianity as a renewal of the heart and make it possible to reclaim the language of the heart, not as a pandering or manipulative rhetoric, but as the framework for a comprehensive theological vision of Christian life and thought. The book closes with several practical applications that make clear the power of Wesley's vision to transform lives today.

This book contains all of Leonardo Da Vinci's drawings on the heart and its physiology, accompanied by re-translations of all of the associated notes. All Leonardo's drawings have been interpreted in the light of modern knowledge by a practicing cardiac clinician and anatomist. The veracity of his work is proven against contemporary dissections of cardiac structure and comparison of his illustrations with contemporary images generated by Magnetic Resonance scanners and high definition ultrasound will astound the reader. Perhaps the most interesting element is the re-dissection of the Ox heart set against Leonardo’s own drawings. His place in the greater scheme of anatomical development will be put into context with his ideas of man’s place in the microcosm/macrocosm continuum.

What makes life meaningful? More to the point, what makes our life meaningful? Without a good answer to that question, we can expend much energy and experience much anxiety as we attempt to live lives of significance, only to find that in the end we missed the point entirely and along the way were deeply dissatisfied. But there is hope. In Why You Matter, Michael Sherrard shows that life is only meaningful if God exists. He then shows how that fundamental fact provides clarity for some of the most important questions of our lives, including - Who am I? - How should I treat others? - What should I do with my life? - How do I make sense of suffering? If you have struggled with a sense of self-worth and direction in your life, or if you have a friend, colleague, or family member who is searching for meaning in a world of suffering, chaos, and uncertainty, Why You Matter will give you confidence that your life matters--but maybe not for the reasons you think.

In the Grasp (Book 1) I’m at the top of my game, and the most notoriously private player in the league, but my personal life leaves something to be desired. I thought I’d have more accomplished by now - like a wife and family - but for nine years I’ve held onto the memory of the girl who got away. Now she’s back and I’m more determined than ever to make her mine. For good this time. Across the Middle (Book 2) From the moment I laid eyes on Gina Rodrigo, she twisted my whole world on its axis. For months I refused to give into the feelings she evoked in me. I’d gone down that road before and it led nowhere good. But one kiss changed everything and I couldn’t fight my feelings anymore. Except she doesn’t know my secret and the deeper we get, the more the ghosts of my past threaten to ruin the first true happiness I’ve ever found. Down by Contact (Book 3) I’m a playboy, a modern-day Casanova. I don’t love women, I just make their orgasm dreams come true. She’s the coach’s daughter and the ultimate ice princess - always cold, composed, and spoiled. We have nothing in common, until she makes me a proposition I can’t turn down. I’m only human after all, and she’s hot. It shouldn’t mean anything. So why can’t I get her out of my damn head? Taking the Handoff (Book 4) I couldn’t say no when my best friend asked for a favor. His little sister needed a safe place until she got her feet under her in LA, so of course I said yes. But I was not prepared for the vixen that showed up at my door looking NOTHING like the girl I remember. She’s off limits and I’m trying to behave. Realy. I am. But the longer she stays here, the more tempted I am to take her and make her mine.
