Monica Harris-Day's perfect world begins a downward spiral the afternoon she comes home to find her husband in bed . . . with another man. After confronting Kevin, her husband of two years, Monica discovers he's had a lifelong struggle with homosexuality that began at the age of ten after he was molested by a deacon in the church. For years, Kevin has sought deliverance, crying out to God to make him straight. He explains his deceit by saying that he thought he had truly been delivered when he married Monica, but was afraid to share his past with her for fear she wouldn't marry him. Kevin begs Monica's forgiveness and wants to save their marriage. He is convinced that God has indeed delivered him from the spirit of homosexuality and that the one-time mistake was just his past coming back to haunt him. Their pastor offers them marital counseling, but Monica suspects he's really concerned about maintaining his mega-ministry. The church has grown to 10,000 members since Kevin became the minister of music. When the pastor swears them to secrecy and urges Monica to stay in the marriage, she thinks Bishop Walker isn't willing to risk the potential scandal and church split that would be caused if the truth were leaked to the congregation. My Soul Cries Out is a compassionate look at the issue of Christians struggling with homosexuality and the redemptive power of God to bring deliverance.

This fiercely feminist YA series is a must-read for fans of Leigh Bardugo and Laini Taylor! Prince Quin has returned to the river kingdom, ready to spearhead a rebellion and reclaim the throne. He vows to destroy Mia, Pilar, and Angelyne if they oppose him—even if he must use his newfound magic to set the world aflame. Across the four kingdoms, the elements have been tipped askew. Volcanoes erupt, glaciers collapse, and cities sink into the western sands. Mia’s sensations are creeping back, and with them, a searing grief. Pilar, terrified of being broken, once again seeks comfort in her fists. Shaping young minds--coaxing fledglings to fly--is the most complex job in the world. In this volume Jim Roy offers a new model for teachers and parents seeking to break out of the rote memory assembly-line approach to education. This book offers a method of homing in on excellence in the same way that a blindfolded dolphin seeks a ring tossed into the water. using echo location, the dolphin beats an indirect path to the ring, yet every turn, every correction, brings it closer to the goal. What Monty Roberts (the horse whisperer) does--gently but firmly--with horses, you can do with children.

This collection of poems are from many different friends and family’s ideas. One is from my ten year old granddaughter, Erin! They were given to me in hopes that I would review, edit, and publish them. It took a lot of time and effort to make some of them into a readable poem. I had to go through them line by line. I did not want to lose the message that each wanted to convey. Everyone is not a poet, but they seem to have a lot of interesting thoughts to write about. I found it comforting to know that many of them see this world as it really is. I am confident that you the reader, from young to old, will find several of these poems to ponder and relate to the intended meaning of the individual poems. Even if you don’t, they are worthy of your time to read. I believe that in a poem you can express yourself freely, which is why poems are written by many who never intend to publish the things they feel very deeply about and write them down. If you have some writings stuck away somewhere, get them out and dust them off and clean up the grammar. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you have wrote down. You may become the next poet in your time.

Every human life is made up of the light and the dark, the happy and the sad, the vital and the deadening. How you think about this rhythm of moods makes all the difference. Our lives are filled with emotional tunnels: the loss of a loved one or end of a relationship, aging and illness, career disappointments or just an ongoing sense of dissatisfaction with life. Society tends to view these “dark nights” in clinical terms as obstacles to be overcome as quickly as possible. But Moore shows how honoring these periods of fragility as periods of incubation and positive opportunities to delve the soul’s deepest needs can provide healing and a new understanding of life’s meaning. Dark Nights of the Soul presents these metaphoric dark nights not as the enemy, but as times of transition, occasions to restore yourself, and transforming rites of passage, revealing an uplifting and inspiring new outlook on such topics as: • The healing power of melancholy • The sexual dark night and the mysteries of matrimony • Finding solace during illness and in aging • Anxiety, anger, and temporary Insanities • Linking creativity, spirituality, and emotional struggles • Finding meaning and beauty in the darkness

Go ahead. Leave your loneliness behind. We all want to matter to someone, but the risks of relationship can seem far too great. It’s easier to just keep our distance. We fear embarrassment, misunderstandings, and even rejection, so we silently endure our loneliness. We work on trying to be nice–rather than being real–hoping that others will like us. Or we might simply give in to the path of least resistance–the life of hurry, impatience, and fatigue–which feels familiar and safe. We pay a terrible price to avoid authentic relationships. It’s time to stop denying your deepest longing–the desire to be known and loved. The Naked Soul shows you how to know and accept others, and how to be known and accepted by others. You can exchange the familiar but deadly territory of loneliness for the exhilaration of giving and receiving love. You don’t have to hide any longer. Break free from loneliness, be the person God created you to be, and start living a life that matters.
